SPS Biota at Safetree Conference - June 2022

Working together to promote reporting and biosecurity in forests, the stand was shared by Abigail Evans from Find-a-Pest, Lucy Aukett from SPS Biota and Brendan Gould from the Forest Owners Association.

On 16/17 June SPS staff Lucy Aukett and Andrew Blakie attended the Safetree forestry industry conference in Queenstown. The conference was all about promoting safe working conditions in our commercial forests in New Zealand.

SPS attended the conference to promote the launch of the refreshed forestry biosecurity eLearning (available here) and the upcoming face to face forestry biosecurity sessions that will soon be running, with the support of the Forest Growers Levy Trust.

Biosecurity in forests is all about reporting if you see anything unusual, and is especially important coming from the forestry workers who are out in the forests all the time and most likely to notice any changes.
