This course covers SEA & Air Training for an Accredited Person (AP).

If your company imports sea or air containers, Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) requires you to have an Accredited Person (AP) available when containers are opened and unpacked.

APs perform a vital role in keeping New Zealand free of pests by knowing how to deal with biosecurity issues should and when they arise.

Overview: This is a SEA & Air Training course for Accredited Person which has a focus on the SEA CONTAINER SITES with an overview for TF’s that may also get air containers.

Documentation required: Attendees will be required to show a form of photo ID at the course

  • Drivers Licence
  • Passport (if you are not born in NZ), also proof you can work in NZ - working visa.

Attendee requirements: The person who attends this course must have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English.

Certificate awarded and post-course requirements: A Certificate of Training will be awarded on successful completion of this course.  

On receipt of a Certificate of Training attendees are then required to submit an Application for Appointment as an Accredited Person to MPI.

Course refreshments: Mid-morning/afternoon refreshments are provided as part of this course.

This one-day workshop outlines the role and responsibilities of a Transitional Facility (TF) Operator (TF-Operator) and the requirements of Standard for Transitional Facilities for General Uncleared Risk Goods (TFGEN). 

All Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) approved transitional facilities must have an approved TF-Operator who maintains overall responsibility for biosecurity activities at their site.

This course is only part of the process for approval as a MPI TF-Operator and attendees will need to complete the process required by MPI as outlined on their website.

Attendee requirements: The person who attends this course must have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English.

Documentation required: Attendees will be required to show a form of photo ID at the course
